Turkey Broccoli Alfredo

 

  • 2 Tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 large florets broccoli, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 6 oz (about 3 cups) uncooked bowtie pasta
  • 1 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 3/4 cup fat-free milk
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • alt and pepper
  1. Brown turkey meat in a saute pan with garlic and sliced onions over medium high heat. 
  2. Add chicken broth, milk, flour, onion powder, basil, parsley, and uncooked pasta to pan and stir well to combine.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil, then cover and reduce heat to a simmer.
  4. Simmer for 15 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring once or twice during this time. Throw in chopped broccoli and cover for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in freshly grated parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper, if needed.
